New China Chinese Restaurant - Big Rapids

Some of the most authentic and delicious food ever. People will complain about how the kitchen doesn’t “look clean” but that just means they’ve never worked in a kitchen in their entire lives. No restaurants kitchen “looks” clean, that’s why they hide it away so you can’t see it and get grossed out by it. This food is so good, I had been used to eating the crappy fake buffet food for years that I had forgotten what real food is actually supposed to taste like. This place is incredible, I came back after two years and the women running the restaurant remembered both me and my parents. That’s insane. Lovely people, amazing food, cheaper than the gross food from the fast food joints, you get so much food!! I literally eat 3 meals off of one order, it’s incredible. Great place, great community members. Everything is great. Please don’t listen to the other reviews who just tell you to eat at established chains. Please give this place a chance, you will not be disappointed. After you have the crab Rangoon here, you will know that every buffet you’ve ever went to has been cheating you.

I absolutely love New China BR!! I prefer it over the other local Chinese joint, the portions are generous, and I always leave with a smile on my face. I love the older decor in the building, it reminds me of restaurants I used to visit in Cleveland in my childhood so it feels very home-y.

I'll always love rose's cooking she's a fantastic chef that puts soul in her cooking... much love... have to try the crabragoons! The egg rolls are too dye for she Julian styles her vegetables for the egg rolls so it's perfect! All chicken is amazing and so is the lomain! Unbeatable

First generation immigrant owner who brought her actual recipes with her. Much better than your normal Chinese take out and significantly better than the local buffet. We make a point to stop every time we come through the area. Great job again, Rose!

You can taste the love the chef in the back puts into her food. The inside feels like a small home kitchen, warm and cozy. The entire place is super clean and the service is amazing- I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good bite in BR that's worth your money!

This place is a hidden gem. Miss Rosy’s food is treasure. As a foodie, the food she prepared for us was the absolute best Chinese food we had ever eaten. (And everything was made fresh within view) We were also impressed by the portions and prices. Our only regret is that we don’t live closer. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Big Rapids from the UP. No other establishments can hold a candle to Miss Rosy’s cooking. I highly recommend the Mongolian beef.

Excellent food and hospitality. No complaints at all. Just need some Instrumental Peaceful Chinese or Buddhist Music may be. But that’s up to the owners and staff. If holes passing by and not eating here, you’re missing out.
